Paradise Lost

Went to the Auckland museum today with a group of the international students. It's a nice place, lots of cool Maori and Pacific Islander artifacts, etc. Also, watch a Maori group put on a performance that involved some singing, some dancing, and another haka. (Gotta love the haka). Had to stop at The Warehouse for kitchen supplies, then had dinner with Roji at the food court in that mall.

In the afternoon, a silly lecture on kiwi slang (not terribly informative), and afterwards a trivia night in the post-grad lounge for the international students. Lots of Kiwi trivia stuff, teams of four, with each member of the team needing to be from a different country. We did rather well, though not well enough to win a prize. Roji had a drink there (i decided not to spend four bucks for a bottle of beer i'm not going to enjoy), and then we headed back to the res hall, where we met up with one of the guys from our trivia team (he's from Munich, Germany), and all chatted for a very long hour.

Roji's a great guy and all, but i'm starting to get some overload. There is such a thing as too much, eh? Though tomorrow he's got a lot of post-grad activities that will keep him busy and i've got nothing really on my plate at all. Nothing i really plan on attending anyways. I guess i'll sleep in and play on the net or something.

At the moment, doing laundry. It's $2 to wash a load and $2 to dry, and i don't have very many shirts here, so i might have to start wearing shirts twice before washing (maybe use some Febreze or something in-between), or washing my whites and colors together, because i can't afford $4-6 a week on laundry. Money is better spent on other things, like L&P or weekend trips. (Like i'm going to do any weekend trips.)

Defrosted the hamburger meat, but not very hungry today either. Maybe i'll eat dinner tomorrow.

See you around, Ben. You were a crazy, brilliant, awesome guy. Requiescant in pace.
